End greyhound racing

The deaths and injuries suffered by dogs in the name of public entertainment must stop.

Each time the trap is released, dogs are exposed to an inherent risk of death or injury due to their bodies being forced to move at pace around the bends of oval tracks; putting high pressure on their limbs, and increasing the likelihood of lethal collisions. Away from the track, there is suffering at every stage of many greyhounds’ lives.

The vast majority of countries across the world have already outlawed greyhound racing. The countries of the United Kingdom lag behind; four of only 10 nations still allowing the exploitation of dogs in this way.

We ask the governments of Westminster, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland to commit to banning greyhound racing, phased over five years to ensure the safety and welfare of all dogs within the industry.
